In the United States, 21 percent of the people living with HIV in 2006 were not even aware of their infection. This group, approximately 232,700 people, is part of the estimated 1.1 million people living with HIV in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In the United States, we support 17 programs that target the most at-risk populations, including women of color and men who have sex with men.
