In 1998, a young orphan girl was admitted to the San Jose de Malambo Home in Arrijan, Panama, and she changed the shelter forever. Established in 1890, the San Jose de Malambo Home provides shelter, education, and health care to underserved children and young mothers. While this still remains its focus, when Malambo took in that HIV-positive girl 10 years ago, its goals broadened to include care and shelter for HIV-infected orphans. |
