As technology advances and becomes more accessible to the world, electronic waste has become a more prevalent issue. Johnson & Johnson is taking steps to address this issue in our regions.
As of the end of 2010, 61 percent of our businesses on a regional basis around the world had implemented take back programs. Regions where we have been unable to establish take back programs are typically in developing countries where infrastructure is limited. In all, more than 2 million products, equivalent to 1,500 tons of electronic waste, have been recycled.
