Human Rights

Governments have the duty to protect the rights of all people. As a corporation, Johnson & Johnson has a responsibility to respect these rights, especially those of the more than one billion people we touch with our products and services every day, including our customers, employees and the people who support our businesses.

At Johnson & Johnson, we believe our most significant opportunities to impact human rights—and therefore our greatest areas of responsibility—are in the areas of human rights in the workplace, access to health care, and clinical research ethics. Our Statement on Human Rights articulates our commitments and the efforts that support them.

Around the world, this commitment is supported by our Global Labor and Employee Guidelines and Policy on Employment of Young Persons. Additionally, our Responsibility Standards for Suppliers outline compliance expectations for suppliers and external manufacturers.

In addition, our Statement on the Human Right to Water addresses the increasingly important global issue of water quality and quantity.
