Moms are caring. They show unconditional love. They’re dedicated. They make sacrifices for their families. They help create childhood memories. They model compassion. Moms are always there for you.
Those are the things Mother’s Day cards are made of.
But if you’re a mom, you know that we’re made of much, much more than that.
Last week, Johnson & Johnson partnered with the U.N. Foundation, BabyCenter, The Huffington Post, and the 92nd Street Y to present Moms + SocialGood – a one-day event focused on the power of motherhood and the role of social media and philanthropy to improve the health of moms and children everywhere.
Hundreds of the brightest and most passionate people working to improve maternal and child health came together to share ideas and inspire action.
These thought leaders changed the narrative about moms. These were some of the key themes that emerged about motherhood and maternal and child health.
Moms + SocialGood gave all moms inspiring and powerful messages: We are the force of social change. We are the foundation of economic success in developing countries. We are the people who can give voices to the voiceless.
Moms are coming together to advocate for children and families all around the world. Johnson & Johnson and our partners are celebrating the successful conclusion of the Global Moms Relay. Between International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day, the Global Moms Relay encouraged people to inspiring stories of how mothers have changed our world and activate donations from Johnson & Johnson ..
We reached our goal of over 275,000 social shares during the relay, and $275,000 will be donated by Johnson & Johnson to Girl Up, Shot @ Life, and MAMA Global.
But our work is not done – and we need your help. You can still make a difference in the lives of women and children around the world. Here are some ways to take action:
Download our Donate a Photo app to your smartphone and take a moment each day to donate a picture to GirlUp or Shot@Life: www.donateaphoto.com.
Get involved with the Global Moms Challenge to get connected with the people and programs helping moms and kids everywhere.
We hope you’ll join us in using your voice for social good!
