Mike Krzyzewski is known for being the winningest coach in men’s college basketball history. This past summer, the Hall of Fame coach led the U.S. men's national basketball team to a third Olympic gold medal and this fall he is back to leading the successful Duke University men’s basketball team, where he has been coaching for 37 years. After experiencing joint pain over the last basketball season, he had his knee replaced with a DePuy Synthes ATTUNE® Knee in April. His new knee is the third joint replacement for Coach K, having previously had two DePuy Synthes hip replacements, 17 and 13 years ago. Recently, Associated Press sports reporter Joedy McCreary had the opportunity to exclusively speak with Coach K to discuss his joint replacement journey and you can read his article here.
Coach K’s joint replacements have given him the opportunity to ‘Hit Play’ on his active career and he encourages others to speak to their doctor about treatment options for severe joint pain.
