Back in March, we had the opportunity to attend the BlissDom ’13 conference as a sponsor. For those of you that don’t know, it’s one of many blogging conferences that brings (mostly) women and men together to learn, grow, and share.

Compared to other conferences, BlissDom focuses more on the motivational and inspirational side of social media. Many of the speakers left the bloggers and influencers feeling empowered, inspiring them to take action after the conference as a result.

For our part in the conference. we hosted a suite where we invited attendees to get involved in the Global Mom Relay and also to make a pledge. To themselves.

We called it the #JNJPromise and invited everyone to make a promise to themselves to do something kind.

We captured a few of our suite visitors on video and asked them questions like:

What kind of mom are you?

What does being a mom mean to you?

What are some of your favorite Johnson & Johnson memories as a parent or a child?

And finally, we asked them to share their #JNJPromise with us.

Here’s what Julie Stamper from the blog, A Day in the Wife, had to say:

After watching Julie’s video, I thought it might be interesting to hear how well she kept her promise to live an honest life and teach her kids to be true to themselves. It turns out she has been making quite a few changes!

“I work full-time, and while my job is fine, it isn’t really my passion. Living an honest life and being true to myself includes defining where my passions lie, and being an example to my kids to do something that is meaningful to them.

I was very motivated by [BlissDom speaker] Jon Acuff’s keynote, and read his entire book on the plane ride home. Following some advice in his book, I started getting up an hour and a half earlier in the morning so I can write, work on my blog, and strategize about how I can make writing my career and also spend more time with my family. I wrote a story for a regional magazine about those changes, and tomorrow I go on a local TV show to talk about that published article and the impact BlissDom and START made on my life today.

It’s been a fun experience, and it’s affirming to see results from making small changes, so my J&J speech ended up being somewhat prophetic!”

It’s not too late to make a promise to yourself to do something kind. Let us know your promise in the comments or tweet @JNJParents and include #JNJParents in your tweet!
