As stated in Our Credo, “We believe our first responsibility is to the patients, doctors and nurses, to mothers and fathers and all others who use our products and services. In meeting their needs everything we do must be of high quality.” Our commitment to quality, safety and reliability is the basis for everything we do.
As the world’s largest and most broadly based healthcare company, Johnson & Johnson reaches patients and consumers across the world with its medicines, consumer health products and medical devices. Their safety when using our products is a critical priority for Johnson & Johnson, and we insist on quality and safety at every stage of product development, manufacturing, supply chain and commercialization.
Suppliers to Johnson & Johnson are key partners in our commitment to quality. As such, they are expected to provide goods and services that consistently meet customers’ needs, are safe for their intended use and perform as intended.
To be considered as a potential supplier or to continue supplying Johnson & Johnson, suppliers must meet a set of quality expectations. They include establishing and maintaining quality controls to protect the integrity of the goods and services they provide; notifying us of proposed changes to specifications, methods, suppliers, materials or components, manufacturing and supply processes, and manufacturing location or equipment; and permitting us to conduct quality audits of their facilities, systems and documents related to the goods and services they provide to Johnson & Johnson.
Through our Supplier Quality Academy, we provide training to suppliers and supplier-facing Johnson & Johnson employees to build and strengthen strategic competencies that impact the overall quality and performance of the end-to-end supply chain. Over years, we have identified many best practices that improve the quality of our products and processes at our sites. The Supplier Quality Academy enables us to share those learnings with our suppliers and external manufacturers.
