EMEA Solutions Director, Janssen Healthcare Innovation

Martha Carruthers is the EMEA Solutions Director at Janssen Healthcare Innovation (JHI) with solutions marketed under the Care4Today® brand. As a division of Johnson & Johnson, Care4Today® partners with healthcare providers to create innovative solutions to healthcare delivery challenges, focused on the areas where we can have the greatest impact. The solutions are centered around patients, empowering them to take a leading role in their own healthcare, and they enable better connectivity between patients, healthcare teams and caregivers through digital and mobile technologies.

Martha has a broad array of experiences working across various functions in the pharmaceutical industry. She started her career in cardiovascular sales with Merck Canada working across both primary and secondary care. After success in a competitive sales environment, she transitioned to a boutique private company, Graceway Pharmaceuticals, as a sales and marketing analyst with responsibilities for market research, sales reports/analytics, forecasting and supply chain management. Following this role, she was promoted and took on responsibilities as the respiratory product manager at Graceway. Martha then moved to the UK and completed an MBA in 2010, which allowed opportunities for an internship with LIVESTRONG (Austin, Texas) and a performance management role with orthopaedics at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (London).

Martha joined Janssen UK in January 2011 as a Senior Product Manager for Concerta® XL and led the brand strategy to achieve great results in 2011. She then took on responsibilities for the Region 6 psychiatry team at the end of 2011 and throughout 2012 as a Regional Business Manager. She was then a European Product Manager for the Immunology Franchise as part of the EMEA Commercial Strategy Organisation, working across Dermatology and Gastroenterology. Martha has been part of Janssen Healthcare Innovation for over 2 1/2 years, working across marketing and solution leadership.

Martha holds an MBA from the University of Oxford (Said Business School). She also holds an Honours BSc (Human Kinetics) from the University of Guelph (Canada).
