Celebrating Our Own Champions of Science with the 2020 Johnson Medal

Despite the ongoing pandemic, the scientists and engineers across Johnson & Johnson continue to work to advance transformational innovations to meet unmet healthcare needs for customers and patients across the world. This November, 21 outstanding innovators across our Consumer Health, Medical Devices and Pharmaceutical sectors were honored with the 2020 Johnson Medal for Research and Development—the most prestigious award given for R&D excellence within Johnson & Johnson. This year’s winning teams were honored for the development of Aveeno® Absolutely Ageless™ Blackberry Complex, EMBOTRAP® II Revascularization Device, SURGICEL® Powder Absorbable Hemostat and TREMFYA® (guselkumab). These resilient teams have demonstrated remarkable ingenuity, perseverance and collaboration to bring forward innovations that are now enhancing the health of people all over the world.

Aveeno® Absolutely Ageless™ Blackberry Complex

Sheer perseverance and ingenuity paid off for this team of motivated researchers at J&J Consumer Health as they overcame obstacles to advance our deep understanding of skin health and harness a unique combination of ingredients to create the Blackberry Complex: a new, proprietary technology to fight multiple signs of skin aging and deliver on unmet consumer needs.
