Champions of Science

Champions of Science® Storytelling Challenge—Africa Science Week Edition

A tremendous amount of scientific innovation is taking place across Africa, with many researchers and entrepreneurs developing new solutions to make a positive impact in their own communities, and around the world. Johnson & Johnson Innovation wants to shine a spotlight on those researchers and entrepreneurs and the impact of their work on society.

Through the “Champions of Science® Storytelling Challenge—Africa Science Week Edition,” we aim to showcase the contributions of the talented and passionate researchers and entrepreneurs from Africa, to build public engagement and support for science, and inspire the next generation to pursue scientific fields that will have the potential to drive Africa’s socioeconomic transformation.

Africa Science Week is comprised of weeklong conferences held throughout several African countries. Citizens or permanent residents of a country in Africa who attended at least one of the Next Einstein Forum’s (NEF) Africa Science Week conferences were invited to enter the challenge through January 31, 2019. The submission process is now closed for judging—winners will be notified soon!

Champions of Science is a multifaceted initiative to convene and catalyze champions of science, and engage people of all generations and backgrounds to see the unlimited opportunities that science brings.
