Global Health Equity newsletter (April)

Happy World Health Worker Week! This week, we celebrate health workers and join with the global community to drive awareness for more investment in the health workforce.

We are proud to stand with health workers around the world in all the ways they deliver care—as healers, mentors, leaders, problem solvers, and so much more. It’s in this spirit that we are proud to launch J&J CareCommunity—our new global social impact platform to accelerate support for health workers and close the gaps between communities and the care they need.

For healthcare to work, it takes health workers—especially nurses and community health workers (CHWs), who are the backbone of our health systems. J&J CareCommunity brings together resources across our company to advance access to quality care by championing nurses and CHWs.

Taking on the care crisis

The projected 10 million global shortage of health workers, along with COVID-19 and climate change, has exacerbated the care crisis we’re facing today—half the world’s population does not have access to essential healthcare.

That’s why, last week, we were proud to announce that J&J and J&J Foundation are joining USAID to expand support for the Americas Health Corps and its goal to train 500,000 health workers across Latin America and the Caribbean.

Read more about this new initiative below—and stay connected with us through our newsletter for all the latest updates on how we are working together to close the gaps between communities and care.
