J&J Impact Ventures invests in Signalytic, supporting digital connectivity of Africa’s rural healthcare facilities

Across Africa, many health facilities and health workers struggle daily with unreliable power sources and internet connectivity, issues that pose frequent and unpredictable obstacles to their work caring for patients. Signalytic helps facilities resolve these barriers through innovative digital health solutions and enhance connectivity in low-resource settings.

“Our mission is to ensure that geography is no barrier to quality health care,” said Nico Christofi, CEO of Signalytic. “This investment from Impact Ventures by J&J Foundation helps us expand our footprint and continue equipping crucial health facilities with the tools they need to deliver reliable, connected care. We are excited to work with a team that shares our vision of stronger, more equitable health systems.”

Signalytic’s solar-powered S+ Platform enables clinics to operate electronic medical records, manage inventory and connect with health applications even in areas without reliable power or internet access. By equipping health workers and providers with affordable and resilient digital infrastructure, Signalytic helps improve the quality, consistency and continuity of care.

Signalytic’s solar-powered S+ Platform enables clinics to operate electronic medical records, manage inventory and connect with health applications, even in areas without reliable power or internet access. This technology is currently deployed across six countries: Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Malawi and Tanzania. Signalytic’s model combines a one-time installation with an ongoing support plan—ensuring clinics and pharmacies of all sizes can sustain operations.

“The S+ Platform is a fully functional digital platform integrating digital tools so they support, not stymie, health care in Africa,” said David Higgins, Investment Director at Impact Ventures. “We are proud to support Signalytic’s innovation connecting health workers to a resilient digital infrastructure, so that they can better connect their communities to care.”

Impact Ventures is an investment fund within the J&J Foundation, supporting a global portfolio of early-stage companies transforming access to quality and affordable healthcare.
