    Frequently asked questions

J&J Direct is a direct-to-patient, self-pay program that delivers prescribed medicines to eligible patients who are uninsured, face coverage and affordability gaps through their health plan or choose to pay out of pocket.
Pricing for the available medicines in the J&J Direct program may not be the best or lowest cost option for you. If you have insurance, you should contact your insurance provider to understand your out-of-pocket costs compared to your costs through J&J Direct. J&J Direct will not file any insurance claims with health plans. If you are uninsured, you may be eligible for cost support from independent sources that are not associated with J&J Direct. Please ensure that you understand your options before you proceed with the J&J Direct program.
To participate in the J&J Direct program, patients must:
    • Be a resident of the United States, Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands
    • Have a valid prescription for the medicine(s) in the Program

The J&J Direct program is open to all eligible patients regardless of insurance status, including those who are uninsured, face coverage and affordability gaps through their health plan or choose to pay out of pocket.

This eligibility includes those patients enrolled in any state or federal government-funded healthcare program. Examples of these programs are Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE, Department of Defense, and Veteran’s Administration. To participate in this program, patients enrolled in any state or federal government-funded healthcare program agree that they will not submit claims to or seek reimbursement of costs from their state or federal healthcare program (e.g., Medicare Part D, Medicaid, etc.).

Government-insured patients should be aware that:
    • any costs for medicines in the J&J Direct program will not count toward Part D True Out of Pocket (TrOOP) costs, total Part D spend, or any deductible
    • the price of the medicines in the J&J Direct program is not conditioned on any future purchases through the J&J Direct program or any other item/service that could be billed to a government-funded healthcare program
    • J&J Direct will make the medicines available to patients for at least one full plan year

This J&J Direct program is subject to change without notice. The medicines available through J&J Direct, and the price for medicines, may be changed at any time without notice.

By using the J&J Direct program, you certify that you meet the eligibility criteria for the J&J Direct program and will comply with the terms and conditions described herein.
    1. Ensure you have a valid prescription from your prescriber for an available medicine included in the Program.
    2. Confirm you meet the eligibility criteria for the Program and that you will comply with the terms and conditions of the Program.
    3. Call +1-855-522-3241 to have your valid prescription transferred or sent to, then fulfilled by, J&J Direct.
    4. Once J&J Direct receives your prescription, you’ll receive a text or email inviting you to enroll in the Program.
    5. Once enrolled, pay directly for available medicine(s) in the Program using a valid form of payment.
    6. Receive your prescribed medicine(s) at the mailing address you provide, with no shipping costs incurred by you.
The J&J Direct program uses a non-commercial pharmacy and insurance is not accepted. Your prescription(s) is filled by PHIL, the pharmacy contracted by Johnson & Johnson to operate J&J Direct on behalf of the company.
J&J Direct does not file claims with any health plans.

If you are enrolled in any state or federal government-funded healthcare program (e.g., Medicare Part D, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, etc.), you may not submit claims to or seek reimbursement of costs from your state or federal healthcare program. Therefore, any purchases made through the J&J Direct program will not count toward your deductible or out-of-pocket maximum.

If you are a commercially insured patient (i.e., not enrolled in a state or federal healthcare program) you should check with your health plan to understand what is allowable.
