      23rd Annual TYLENOL® Future Care Scholarship Recipients Awarded $250,000

      Ft. Washington, PA, November 12, 2013McNeil Consumer Healthcare Division of McNEIL-PPC, Inc., the makers of TYLENOL®, is pleased to announce the 40 recipients of the 23rd annual TYLENOL® Future Care Scholarship. The 2013 program awards a total of $250,000 in scholarship funds to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing an education in healthcare. Winners are named TYLENOL® Future Care Scholars and receive awards of $5,000 or $10,000 to help manage the rising cost of education.

      To date, the TYLENOL® Future Care Scholarship program has awarded more than $8.9 million in scholarship funds to more than 6,700 students embarking on a variety of diverse career paths in the healthcare field.

      “The 2013 class of TYLENOL® Future Care Scholars is an exceptional group of students seeking degrees in healthcare programs ranging from medicine, nursing, and pharmacy to public health and health education,” said Denice Torres, President, McNeil Consumer Healthcare. “The TYLENOL® brand is passionate about supporting people who are dedicated to caring for others and McNeil is proud to recognize these students, whose collective goals and career ambitions align with our commitment to the future of healthcare.”

      The TYLENOL® Future Care Scholarship recipients were selected based on leadership qualities, academic performance and community involvement. To be eligible, students must have completed at least one year of undergraduate or graduate study by the Spring of 2013 at an accredited two or four year college, university or vocational/technical school.

      “I chose to pursue a career in the healthcare industry (and particularly nursing) because it provides me with nearly limitless opportunities to learn and grow while contributing to the health and well-being of others,” said Johns Hopkins University student, Jocelyn A.

      “Serving patients is the reason I want to spend a lifetime in healthcare,” declared Kelsey M., of Des Moines University-Osteopathic.
