Johnson & Johnson Chairman and CEO Alex Gorsky gave this year’s commencement address at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, where he spoke about values-based leadership and advised the graduating class about how to find purpose in their lives.
“I believe we need a new kind of leader and a new kind of leadership,” he said. “Business leadership has a role in and a responsibility for creating a better society.” Gorsky also advised the students to “understand the basic importance of taking care of yourself and going the distance.”
“The careers you have ahead are a marathon, not a sprint,” he added.
