Statement on Bundibugyo Ebola outbreak

At Johnson & Johnson, our thoughts are with the people, communities and health workers who are facing the current Bundibugyo Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo and neighboring countries.

In response, the Johnson & Johnson Foundation is providing Americares with emergency funding to help meet the urgent, near-term needs of healthcare workers responding to the Bundibugyo outbreak and support communities throughout the recovery process. This funding will help Americares deliver trainings in infection prevention, case management, and risk communication; provide personal protective equipment; and enable public health education and targeted prevention efforts to help contain the spread of the disease, supporting communities throughout the recovery process.

As an Americares Emergency Response Partner, the Johnson & Johnson Foundation provides ongoing support that allows the health-focused relief and development organization to quickly respond to emergencies including supporting the physical and mental health of frontline health workers and survivors.

We will continue to monitor the situation and evaluate our response with partners.
