The Road to a Vaccine

She is a blogger, gun violence prevention activist and has been nationally recognized for her work in school nursing and population health. Dr. Maldonado is a pediatric infectious diseases physician and Vice President of Pediatric Drug Development at Janssen Research & Development. For the past two decades, Dr. Maldonado has worked in developing new medicines for children. He was a Medical Officer at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the 1990s during the HIV/AIDS pandemic. While working in the Antiviral Division at the FDA, Dr. Maldonado also worked on policy issues that culminated with the pediatric laws that govern pediatric drug development today.
