How to prepare for your first day

Familiarize yourself with our Company:
Make a list
Start your planning by making a to-do list. What do you need to get done before you start work? What questions do you have that you don’t want to forget to ask?
Review relevant materials
Revisit any interview notes, review the job description for your new role, and read more about the products or processes you’ll be working on. Additionally, review any offer and onboarding materials that you’ve received—note any required actions that you need to take or documents which you may need for your first day.
Get to know your new collegues
If you haven’t done so already, take the opportunity to learn about your new colleagues. Connect with your Manager and other members of the team through LinkedIn to get a sense of their professional backgrounds and experience.
Connect with your manager or buddy
We know that when you start a new job, you may have lots of questions. Be sure to stay connected with your Manager or Buddy (if one has been assigned) regarding Day 1 logistics and other important details.
Prepare your elevator pitch
It’s never too early to start building your personal brand. Since you’ll probably need to introduce yourself to many new colleagues during your first few months, spend time crafting your elevator pitch—a 30 second summary about who you are, what you do, and what makes you unique.
Recharge & relax!
We can’t wait to meet you and look forward to the diverse perspective that you will bring to your new role. Take time before you start to recharge, re-energize, and get excited to start your journey with J&J!
