Global Operations Leadership Development (GOLD) Program

The Global Operations Leadership Development (GOLD) Program is a 2.5-year, full-time rotational program that prepares high-potential graduates for leadership roles within Johnson & Johnson’s global supply chain. The program is suited for graduates with a background in supply chain, engineering, or business. It’s for you if you want to develop a broad, end‑to‑end understanding of operations. Participants complete rotations across different supply chain functions, gaining hands‑on experience while building technical, business, and leadership capabilities. In addition to on‑the‑job learning, the GOLD Program includes structured personal and professional development and offers exposure to international teams and working environments, helping participants build a strong global network early in their careers.

PhD Clinical Science Program

The PhD Clinical Science Program offers graduates with a PhD the opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in the role of a Clinical Scientist, primarily based in Schaffhausen. The program follows a rotational structure that combines work on a clinical development project with time spent in additional functions involved in the development or launch of new medicines.

StepIN Trainee Rotation Program

The StepIN Trainee Rotation Program in Schaffhausen is designed for graduates with an advanced degree in natural sciences who are interested in the pharmaceutical industry. It is a two‑year program, including three immersive, on‑site rotations across different functions, that develop strong cross-departmental connections. StepIN is for you if you’re proficient in both English and German and bring analytical thinking, adaptability, and leadership potential. StepIN offers clear career prospects, with alumni transitioning into roles such as Manufacturing, Quality Control, or Quality Assurance leadership positions. 

Finance Leadership Development Program (FLDP)

The Finance Leadership Development Program (FLDP) offers a strong starting point for graduates interested in finance or business-related careers. It is a 2.5-year, full-time rotational program that includes six months of onboarding and two 12-month rotations, across different countries in EMEA, providing you with exposure to both local and international perspectives. The rotations help strengthen your practical skills across financial disciplines while growing your network.

If you possess strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated leadership experience, passion for finance, and hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance-related fields, this program is for you! The application period runs from September to October, with the program starting the following Summer.

In the program, participants benefit from structured learning focused on leadership, communication, technical skills, and value creation. They work on tasks across financial disciplines such as accounting, tax, research and development finance, and internal auditing, while continuing to grow through mentoring and supported personal development.

What motivated you to apply to the FLDP program at Johnson & Johnson?
What motivated me most was the strong sense of community. You join as part of a class and have immediate support. I was also drawn to the two-rotation structure with different responsibilities and locations in two countries that allow me to build my network and develop myself.

What kind of projects or tasks have you worked on so far, and what skills or insights have you gained?
Alongside my daily role, I’ve joined learning series and cross-section initiatives, such as the Swiss Finance Day team. In my day-to-day work, I’ve supported a finance transformation project, gaining insights into both finance processes and technology.

What would you tell someone to think about applying?
Go for it. Be curious, open, and ready to engage. It’s important to align with Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and be open to moving abroad. To get the most out of the program, you need to actively participate and be part of the community.
