Giving Back Gift Guide: 5 Easy Ways You Can Do Good This Holiday Season
Share
Want to make a difference in the world? Scratch that sweater off your gift list in favor of donating to one of these online charitable programs that have partnered with Johnson & Johnson to make giving stress-free.

Many of the most memorable holiday gifts don’t come wrapped in boxes and bows—they come from the heart.

Gifts from the heart like helping kids in under-served areas get access to much-needed educational tools, or helping HIV-positive moms living in resource-constrained regions get the medical care they need to thrive.

And this holiday season, Johnson & Johnson is making it easier for do-gooders to help support such charitable organizations as Save the Children and the USO through these special online programs.

Plus, there's a bonus: In some cases, Johnson & Johnson has committed to making a match—so your charitable gift-giving can go even further.

The program ...
Donate a Photo

How it works ...
You’re probably already taking photos of the dog in his cute Santa costume and the Martha-worthy cookies you baked for all those holiday parties, so why not put them to good use? Share a photo once every day throughout the season via the Donate a Photo app, and Johnson & Johnson will donate $1 to the cause of your choice*.

Who it benefits ...
The app supports a wide range of causes focused on health, the environment, emergency relief, education and equality, such as the United Nations Foundation Girl Up Campaign—a nonprofit that helps girls and women around the world with such services as financial literacy training and career mentoring

*Johnson & Johnson has curated a list of trusted causes, and you can donate a photo to one cause, once a day. Each cause will appear in the app until it reaches its goal, or the donation period ends. If the goal isn't reached, the cause will still get a minimum donation.

Johnson & Johnson has partnered with Save the Children on the Gifts of Joy catalog since 2013, and during the 2016 holiday season, the company will match every dollar spent up to $450,000.

Who it benefits ...
Save the Children, an organization dedicated to helping kids around the world get a healthy start in life

CaringCrowd®

How it works ...
The world’s most pressing health challenges can’t be tackled alone—which is where CaringCrowd® comes in. The online crowdfunding platform enables you to make individual donations that, when pooled, can lead to big change.

And for the holiday season, Johnson & Johnson will match your donation (up to $250 per project, per person) until a $100,000 cap is reached.

Who it benefits ...
Nonprofits working directly with underserved or neglected populations, such as helping HIV-positive mothers in Africa receive vital maternal and child health services, and providing medical care to at-risk children throughout the world

Charity Miles

How it works ...
Are pumpkin pie and latkes doing a number on your waistline this holiday season? Sign up for Charity Miles and for every mile you walk, run or bike, the app will contribute 25 cents (by foot) or 10 cents (by wheels) to a charity of your choice.

Who it benefits ...
Dozens of charitable organizations, including Sight for Kids, which offers eye care services to less fortunate children around the world, and Operation Smile, an organization that provides cleft lip and cleft palate surgeries to kids in need
