Johnson & Johnson’s ICOTYDE® (icotrokinra) named to Time’s Best Inventions of 2026 list

The first-of-its-kind targeted oral peptide therapy for moderate to severe plaque psoriasis has been chosen for the annual list, which recognizes innovations for their originality, ambition and impact.

Key takeaways about Johnson & Johnson’s recognition on Time’s Best Inventions of 2026 list

    • Johnson & Johnson’s novel therapy for plaque psoriasis has been included in the medical and healthcare category of Time’s annual list of the best inventions.
    • The therapy, a systemic treatment for this chronic immune-mediated inflammatory disease, is redefining what scientific innovation can look like.
    • Time’s Best Inventions list has been published every year since 2000 and features the most impactful inventions that are helping people live smarter and healthier.
    • The company has been chosen for the Time list several times.

For years, researchers at Johnson & Johnson have worked to advance treatment options that could help address plaque psoriasis, a chronic disease that can affect nearly every aspect of a person’s life. Many people who may be candidates for systemic therapy remain undertreated, underscoring the need for continued innovation.

One such innovation, for which Johnson & Johnson received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in March, is now being recognized on the global stage. ICOTYDE® has been named one of Time’s Best Inventions of 2026.

Since 2000, Time has published an annual list of the most impactful inventions from makers across the globe. The inventions span a variety of categories—including technology, science, fashion, food, entertainment and medical and healthcare. Inventions recognized by Time were selected for making the world better, healthier and smarter and changing the way people live, work, play and think about what’s possible.

Nominations are solicited from editors and correspondents around the world and through an online application process, then evaluated on criteria such as originality, effectiveness, ambition and impact. This year’s list features 300 inventions that reflect the pace of innovation worldwide. (See the full list of the winners for 2026 here.)

Recognition from Time reflects Johnson & Johnson’s enduring commitment to scientific innovation for people living with plaque psoriasis and the progress being made to reimagine what may be possible for patients.

For those navigating the daily challenges of a chronic disease, advances like these represent more options, new possibilities and continued progress toward improved outcomes.

The company is proud to once again be named to Time’s Best Inventions list.
