Teams from TRUMATCH® Personalized Solutions and Siemens Product Lifecycle Management, Inc. are working on an integrated design system intended to automate the creation of customized instrumentation, allowing DePuy Synthes Joint Reconstruction to service more patients with individualized products. The team from Siemens brings medical imaging and software development expertise and, together with the DePuy Synthes Joint Reconstruction team, is customizing off-the-shelf software to meet the product needs of TRUMATCH® Personalized Solutions.
Best Process SEI: Additional Delivery of Abiraterone Acetate (Zytiga®) & Cambridge Major Laboratories, Inc.
The Janssen and CML team partnered to expand the manufacturing capacity for the active ingredient in Zytiga, . Abiraterone Acetate. It is manufactured by both Janssen in Geel (Belgium) and AAI-CML in Germantown (WI, USA). Both facilities were producing at their maximum capacity in 2012 and needed to increase capacity to continue meeting the increasing worldwide demand. CML over-delivered by committing to transfer the Geel process into CML in seven months’ time instead of the projected 12 months. CML more than tripled its total capacity and, in combination with the Janssen production capacity, enabled sales of over $1.5 billion globally in 2013 and provided an uninterrupted supply of this critical prostate cancer drug to patients worldwide.

Simbionix helped the Ethicon, Inc. Professional Education team develop a surgical simulator that mimics real human anatomy and surgical procedures via a computer simulated environment. It allows for training on various products using interchangeable instruments via surgical simulator hardware and procedural software. This technology allows for more comprehensive in-depth surgical training, which enables surgeons to enhance their expertise, increase their confidence, and improve patient lives.
