Disease Areas:
- Stroke Prevention in Atrial Fibrillation, in particular populations who are obese.
- Thromboembolic Disease, patients at risk for VTE, both adult and pediatric populations.
- Vascular Protection (CAD/PAD) and prevention of amputation
Areas of Interest:
Overall, we will support programs and initiatives that assist patients and caregivers impacted by the diseases noted below in the Cardiovascular therapeutic area, with a preference toward:
- Education of patients and caregivers on the respective disease areas
- Family/caregiver support, wellness education, advocacy support
- Innovative efforts to empower patients to manage their disease
- Tools to assist patients & families related to anti-coagulant therapy
- Efforts to build skills of professionals and caregivers to improve patient outcomes
- Efforts to address healthcare disparities for marginalized or at-risk groups (outreach & awareness, education to policy makers, stigma & cultural competence initiatives)
- Advocacy initiatives on access to care to treat individual patient needs
