The Red Couch: Innovation where it matters most

Some of the most important conversations don’t happen in boardrooms. They happen when science meets humanity. When innovation meets lived experience. When the people behind the breakthroughs sit down with the people whose lives have been transformed because of them. That’s The Red Couch.

Originally created as an internal platform, The Red Couch was designed to connect colleagues, break down silos, and foster meaningful conversations across Johnson & Johnson. Seasons One and Two focused exclusively on internal audiences, creating a space to spotlight innovation, share insights, and celebrate the people and expertise driving our business.

Building on the success of those early seasons, The Red Couch evolved beyond our walls in Seasons Three, and now Four, transforming from an internal communications platform into an enterprise storytelling franchise designed to engage employees, healthcare professionals, patients, and broader external audiences. Today, it serves as a signature platform for showcasing how Johnson & Johnson is advancing healthcare through innovation, science, and the power of human stories.

Hosted by Vanessa Broadhurst, Executive Vice President, Global Corporate Affairs, The Red Couch explores the intersection of innovation, culture, science, and purpose through candid conversations with researchers, healthcare professionals, business leaders, caregivers, advocates, creators, and patients.

Each episode goes beyond headlines and product milestones to reveal something deeper: The people behind the progress. Because while innovation may begin in the lab, its true impact is measured in lives changed, communities strengthened, and futures reimagined.

Now, as we launch Season Four, we’re excited to continue expanding the reach of The Red Couch, bringing powerful stories of innovation, collaboration, and patient impact to audiences both inside and outside Johnson & Johnson.

At Johnson & Johnson, every breakthrough has a story. The Red Couch is where we tell it.
