Dominic J. Caruso is Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Johnson & Johnson. Dominic serves as a member of the Company’s Executive Committee and has responsibility for financial and investor relations activities, as well as the Company’s procurement organization. He assumed his current position in January 2007.

Dominic joined the Corporation in October 1999 as Chief Financial Officer for Centocor, Inc., with the completion of the merger of Centocor and Johnson & Johnson. Prior to joining

Johnson & Johnson, he had been with Centocor since 1985 with responsibilities for finance, information management, investor relations, procurement and facility services.  He also served as general manager of Centocor’s Diagnostic Division. Prior to joining Centocor, he had varied industry experiences with the audit and tax services firm KPMG.

In 2001, Dominic was named Vice President of Finance for Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical and a member of its management board.  He was named Vice President, Group Finance for Medical Devices & Diagnostics and a member of the Medical Devices & Diagnostics Group Operating Committee in May 2003.  Dominic assumed responsibility for the Group Finance organization in December 2005, the position he held until being named to his present position.

Mr. Caruso graduated from Drexel University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.  He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Chuck Austin

Corporate Vice President, Global Supply Chain

Chuck Austin is the Corporate Vice President of Johnson & Johnson Supply Chain. Previously, Mr. Austin was Company Group Chairman, Ethicon Surgical Care, and a member of the Global Surgery Leadership Team of Johnson & Johnson. Prior to that he was the Worldwide President of Ethicon Endo-Surgery and was Worldwide President of Advanced Sterilization Products, based in Irvine, California. 

Chuck joined Johnson & Johnson in 1989 as a Technical Services Engineer for Ethicon, Inc., in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 1994 he moved to Ethicon Endo-Surgery to manage manufacturing support services, eventually assuming leadership positions in Research and Development. He briefly left Johnson & Johnson in 1998 to become Vice President, Operations and Research & Development, for Situs, a drug delivery start-up in San Diego. Chuck rejoined Johnson & Johnson in 1999 as President, Global Pharmaceutical Supply Group for Ortho McNeil. In 2007, he was named President of the Global Pharmaceutical Supply Group and Worldwide Chemical Production, a position he held until moving to Advanced Sterilization Products in February 2008.

Chuck earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York, and served in the U.S. Army from 1978 to 1983.

Joaquin Duato

Worldwide Chairman, Pharmaceuticals

Joaquin Duato is Worldwide Chairman, Pharmaceuticals, Johnson & Johnson, a position he assumed in January 2011. He is responsible for the global pharmaceutical commercial businesses of the Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson. In this role, Joaquin also oversees the Operations, Quality, and Compliance functional groups supporting the Pharmaceutical commercial and research and development organizations.

Prior to his current role, Joaquin held the position of Company Group Chairman, The Americas, and led a team responsible for the launches of key products and for the strong growth of major therapeutic franchises throughout Canada, the U.S. and Latin America. He also held the role of Company Group Chairman, Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, Inc.

Joaquin’s career in the pharmaceutical industry has spanned sales, marketing and general management. He joined Johnson & Johnson in 1989 in Janssen Spain and later became Managing Director of Janssen-Cilag Italy. He then led Ortho Biotech Europe before relocating to the United States in 2002 as Vice President for the Ortho Biotech Oncology Franchise. He was named President, Ortho Biotech Products, L.P. in 2005.

Joaquin serves on the Board of Directors of the Pharmaceutical Research & Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) and chairs the PhRMA State Committee. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Save the Children and the International Advisory Board of the ESADE Business School.

A native of Valencia, Spain, Joaquin holds an undergraduate degree in Economics and two Master’s degrees – one in Business Administration from ESADE Business School in Barcelona; the other in International Management from Thunderbird in Phoenix, Arizona.

Peter Fasolo

Vice President, Global Human Resources

Peter M. Fasolo is Vice President, Global Human Resources. He is responsible for the global talent, recruiting, diversity, compensation, benefits, employee relations and all aspects of the Human Resources agenda for the Corporation. Peter is a member of the Executive Committee, Compensation Committee, and Chairs the Pension Committee for the Company.

He returned to Johnson & Johnson in September, 2010 as Worldwide Vice President Human Resources. Prior to returning to Johnson & Johnson, Peter spent three years in private equity at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR) as Chief Talent Officer for the portfolio companies owned by the Firm.  Peter was a member of KKR’s Portfolio Management Committee, which oversees the strategic, operational and management issues of the various KKR companies. At KKR, Peter focused on Board composition, CEO and top executive assessment, selection, succession and long-term Executive compensation plans across the various industry groups. 

Peter’s previous role at Johnson & Johnson was as Vice President, Global Talent Management where he was responsible for executive assessment and development for the Company and worked closely with the senior leadership to determine the talent needs of the business to execute the corporate strategy.  In 2004, Peter’s first role at Johnson & Johnson was as Worldwide Vice President Human Resources for Cordis Corporation where he worked extensively on the merger and acquisition strategy for the Cordis cardiovascular business.  

Peter has more than 15 years experience in consulting, working directly in the healthcare and consumer industries, having spent 13 years with Bristol-Myers Squibb in senior level HR Executive roles in the Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices and Consumer segments.  He has lived and worked in Paris, France, and also had responsibility for Europe, Asia and Latin America in his career. He has lectured and written extensively in the area of workplace fairness, leadership, and workforce metrics.  Peter has written a book chapter on workplace fairness and has published articles in the Academy of Management Journal and Journal of Applied Psychology.  He also was featured in Human Resources Executive.

Peter earned a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from the University of Delaware, an M.A. in Industrial Psychology from Farleigh Dickinson University and a B.A. in Psychology from Providence College. 

Alex Gorsky

Having started his career at Johnson & Johnson in 1988 and having been promoted to positions of increasing responsibility across business segments, culminating in his appointment to CEO and election to the Board of Directors in 2012, Mr. Gorsky brings a full range of strategic management expertise, a broad understanding of the issues facing a multinational business in the healthcare industry and an in-depth knowledge of the company's business, history and culture to the Board and the Chairman position.

Mr. Gorsky assumed his current position as Chairman, Board of Directors, in December 2012. He was named Chief Executive Officer, Chairman of the Executive Committee and joined the Board of Directors in April 2012. Mr. Gorsky began his Johnson & Johnson career as a sales representative with Janssen Pharmaceutica Inc. in 1988. Over the next 15 years, he advanced through positions of increasing responsibility in sales, marketing, and management. In 2001, Mr. Gorsky was appointed President of Janssen Pharmaceutical Inc., and in 2003 he was named Company Group Chairman of the Johnson & Johnson pharmaceuticals business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Mr. Gorsky left Johnson & Johnson in 2004 to join the Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation, where he served as head of the company's pharmaceuticals business in North America.

Mr. Gorsky returned to Johnson & Johnson in 2008 as Company Group Chairman for Ethicon. In early 2009, he was appointed Worldwide Chairman of the Surgical Care Group and member of the Executive Committee. In September 2009, he was appointed Worldwide Chairman of the Medical Devices and Diagnostics Group. Mr. Gorsky became Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee in January 2011. Mr. Gorsky also serves on the board of the Travis Manion Foundation.

Mr. Gorsky holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY, and spent six years in the U.S. Army, finishing his military career with the rank of Captain. Mr. Gorsky earned a Master of Business Administration degree from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1996.

Karen A. Licitra

Worldwide Chairman, Global Medical Solutions Group

Karen Licitra is Worldwide Chairman, Global Medical Solutions Group within Johnson & Johnson’s Medical Device and Diagnostics segment.  She is responsible for setting the strategy and vision for a portfolio of healthcare companies including the Vision Care, Diabetes Care and Ortho Clinical Diagnostics (OCD) franchises, as well as Advanced Sterilization Products (ASP) and the Sedation business unit.  Karen also leads the MD&D center of excellence for regulatory affairs.  Prior to her current role, she was Company Group Chairman for Johnson & Johnson and Worldwide Franchise Chairman for Ethicon Endo-Surgery, Inc., and Johnson & Johnson Medical, Canada. 

Karen began her Johnson & Johnson career in 1984 as a sales representative with Ethicon, Inc.  She advanced through positions of increasing responsibility in sales and marketing and in 1996 she was promoted to Vice President, Product Management.  With the acquisition of the Biopsys Medical business in 1997, Karen was named Vice President, Breast Care Management where she led the successful integration of that business. She became Vice President and General Manager, Ethicon Endo-Surgery, Inc., in September 2000, was promoted to President in December 2000, and named Company Group Chairman in 2002.

Karen serves on the Board of Directors of the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed), a trade association focused on the medical technology industry, and is a member of the Board of Trustees for the St. Peter's Healthcare System.  She is also the Board Chair for the Campaign to End Obesity, a cause committed to advancing national policy and platforms to combat obesity.          

Karen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from Rider College (now Rider University).

Michel Orsinger

Worldwide Chairman, Global Orthopaedics Group

Michel Orsinger is Worldwide Chairman, DePuy Synthes Companies of Johnson & Johnson, since June 2012 following the Johnson & Johnson acquisition of Synthes, Inc.

Previously, Michel was President & Chief Executive Office of Synthes, Inc., a position he held from 2007 to 2012. He joined the Synthes in 2004 when he was retained as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Synthes, Michel spent eleven years with Novartis in various executive management positions, most recently as President and CEO of the OTC (Over-the-Counter) Division Worldwide. He began his career with Procter & Gamble and Mars Inc.

Michel served as a member of the Nobel Biocare Board of Directors from 2004 to 2006, and from 2011 to present.

Michel holds a Business Administration Degree from University of St. Gallen (Switzerland).  He attended the Advanced Management Program, Harvard Business School (U.S.A.) and the Advanced Management Program, INSEAD (France).

Lynn Pendergrass

Worldwide Chairman, Consumer

Lynn Pendergrass is the Worldwide Chairman, Consumer segment, at Johnson & Johnson, a role she assumed in September 2013. She is a member of the Johnson & Johnson Management Committee and reports to Sandra E. Peterson, Group Worldwide Chairman.

Lynn has accountability for the Johnson & Johnson portfolio of iconic global brands including JOHNSON’S® Baby, LISTERINE ®, TYLENOL ®, NEUTROGENA ®, and BAND-AID® Brand Adhesive Bandages. With accountability for an organization of 23,000 people doing business all over the world, she brings over 20 years of experience in leading and creating sustainable growth and profitability in consumer products, in innovating to build superior consumer experiences, and in partnering with customers.

Lynn joined Johnson & Johnson from Hewlett-Packard (HP), where she delivered innovative go-to-market solutions and significant market share growth in her role as Senior Vice President and General Manager overseeing the printing and personal systems businesses for the Americas.

Before joining HP, Lynn successfully led consumer businesses at GE, including appliances and lighting, with a particular focus on global brand management, insight-led innovation and building exceptional customer partnerships.

Lynn is known for driving business transformation and propelling her teams to leadership through varying economic cycles.  Under her leadership, businesses have delivered outstanding market share growth, product and commercial innovation and supply chain optimization.

A graduate of the University of Louisville in Kentucky, Lynn holds both Bachelor of Science and Masters of Engineering degrees in Chemical Engineering.

Sandra E. Peterson

Group Worldwide Chairman
Member, Executive Committee

Sandra E. (Sandi) Peterson is Group Worldwide Chairman and a member of the Executive Committee since December 2012. Sandi is responsible for the Consumer Group of Companies, as well as the Global Supply Chain and Information Technology organizations.

Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, Sandi was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Bayer CropScience AG, based in Europe.  Previously, she was president and chief executive officer of Bayer Medical Care and president of Bayer HealthCare AG’s Diabetes Care Division.  Before joining Bayer in 2005, Sandi spent five years in leadership roles at Medco Health Solutions (aka Merck-Medco), where she was responsible for a number of businesses, marketing, strategy, and the application of information technology to healthcare systems.  She previously led R&D, quality, regulatory affairs and procurement at Nabisco, Inc., and worked in strategy, finance and product development at Whirlpool Corporation.  Sandi began her career in consulting with McKinsey & Company, Inc.

A graduate of Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts in Government, Sandi also holds an M.P.A. in Applied Economics from Princeton University. She is a member of the board of directors of The Dun & Bradstreet Corporation.

Gary Pruden

Worldwide Chairman, Global Surgery Group

Gary Pruden is the Worldwide Chairman, Global Surgery Group, a role he assumed in January 2012. Prior to this role, Gary was the Company Group Chairman and Worldwide Franchise Chairman for Ethicon and a member of the Medical Device and Diagnostics (MD&D) Group Operating Committee.

Gary joined Johnson & Johnson in 1985 with Janssen Pharmaceutica in New Jersey and held a number of senior positions in sales, marketing, and strategic account management. In 2001, he was named Vice President of Marketing for the Primary Care Franchise and was responsible for establishing significant growth for the Gastrointestinal, Pain, and Mycology businesses. He then assumed the role of VP of Sales and Marketing for the CNS Franchise in 2003, helping to successfully launch new brands and establish significant new growth.  Early in his career, Gary also worked as a sales representative for Baxter Edwards in their Critical Care division.

In April 2004, Gary was appointed President of Janssen-Ortho Inc., headquartered in Toronto, Canada.  He also functioned as the company’s Chief Operating Officer. In his position, Gary oversaw all operations in Canada.  He successfully led the team through several lifecycle and patent expiries, while at the same time enabling Janssen-Ortho to become the fastest growing large pharmaceutical company in Canada in 2004.  In November 2004, Gary was appointed to the Board of Directors of Canada’s Research-Based Pharmaceutical Companies, the industry association for ethical manufacturers of brand-name, prescription medicines in Canada. In January 2006, he was appointed WW President of Ethicon Products and also served as a member of the Ethicon Global Management Board.

Gary is a graduate of Rider University and has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Commerce.

Michael Sneed

Vice President, Global Corporate Affairs

Michael Sneed is Vice President, Global Corporate Affairs for Johnson & Johnson and a member of the Corporation’s Management Committee. In his role he leads the Corporation’s global marketing, communication, equity and philanthropy functions. He assumed his position in January 2012. Previous to this role, Mr. Sneed was a Company Group Chairman for
Johnson & Johnson and a member of the Medical Devices & Diagnostics Group Operating Committee, a role he assumed in January 2007.  He had primary responsibility for the global vision care franchise. He assumed this position in January 2007.

Michael joined Johnson & Johnson in 1983 as a Marketing Assistant for Personal Products Company.  He held positions of increasing responsibility in the marketing organization.  In 1991 Mr. Sneed moved to McNeil Consumer Products as a Group Product Director and was promoted to Vice President, Worldwide Consumer Pharmaceuticals in 1995 to lead the company’s growth in the Asia Pacific, Eastern European and Latin American regions.

In 1998 Michael relocated to Europe as Managing Director, McNeil Consumer Nutritionals Europe.  He returned to the U.S. as President, McNeil Nutritionals Worldwide, in 2000.  In 2002 he was named Global President, Personal Products Company.  Michael was promoted to Company Group Chairman and a member of the Consumer and Personal Care Group Operating Committee in 2004, with North American responsibility for the Personal Products Company, Johnson & Johnson Sales and Logistics Company and Johnson & Johnson Consumer Canada. In his role he also had North American responsibility for the IT, Finance and HR organizations within the Consumer & Personal Care group.

Michael is a member of the board of trustees at Macalester College and a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of Family Service Association. He also serves on the Executive Committee of the Ad Council. He holds a Master’s degree in business administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a Bachelor of Arts’ degree, cum laude, from Macalester College.

Paul Stoffels, M.D.

Chief Scientific Officer; Worldwide Chairman, Pharmaceuticals

Dr. Paul Stoffels is Chief Scientific Officer, Johnson & Johnson. In this role, he works with R&D leaders across Johnson & Johnson to set the enterprise-wide innovation agenda and is a member of the Johnson & Johnson Executive Committee.

Paul chairs the Johnson & Johnson R&D Management Committee and provides oversight to the Johnson & Johnson Development Corporation (JJDC) and the Johnson & Johnson innovation centers, with the goal of catalyzing innovative science and technology. Additionally, Paul has oversight for product safety of all products of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies worldwide.

Paul also is Worldwide Chairman of Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson, with responsibility for expansion of the company’s therapeutic pipeline through global R&D and strategic partnerships, licensing and acquisitions. He leads teams across Janssen to discover and develop treatments for unmet medical needs in the therapeutic areas of cardiovascular & metabolism, immunology, infectious disease &vaccines, neuroscience and oncology.

Prior to his role as Worldwide Chairman, he  served as Global Head, Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical R&D from 2009 - 2011, as Company Group Chairman, Central Nervous System & Internal Medicine, from 2006 - 2009, and as Company Group Chairman, Global Virology, from 2005-2006. Paul joined Johnson & Johnson in 2002 with the acquisition of Virco and Tibotec, where he was Chief Executive Officer of Virco and as Chairman of Tibotec, and led the development of a number of leading products for the treatment of HIV.

Paul studied Medicine at the University of Diepenbeek and the University of Antwerp in Belgium and Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine at the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp, Belgium. He began his career as a physician in Africa, focusing on HIV and tropical diseases research.

Michael Ullmann

Michael H. Ullmann is Vice President, General Counsel of Johnson & Johnson and a member of the Executive Committee. He has responsibility for the Law Department, Global Security, Health Care Compliance & Privacy and Aviation.

Prior to his assuming his current position in January 2012, Mike served as General Counsel of the Worldwide Medical Devices & Diagnostics Group starting in 2006.  He also served as Corporate Secretary of Johnson & Johnson from 1999 to 2006.  During that time he held various management positions in the Law Department. 

Mike joined Johnson & Johnson as a mergers and acquisitions attorney in 1989.  He has also served on the Management Boards of Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products Company, Inc., Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (U.S.) and McNeil Pharmaceuticals.  

Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, he practiced law in New York City.  He graduated magna cum laude from Cornell University, College of Arts & Sciences, and earned his law degree from Columbia University School of Law.

Jesse J. Wu

Worldwide Chairman, Group of Consumer Companies

Jesse Wu is Worldwide Chairman of the Johnson & Johnson Group of Consumer Companies. He leads the Consumer Group Operating Committee.

Previously, Jesse was Company Group Chairman, Global Markets Organization (GMO). He joined Johnson & Johnson in 1989 as Finance Director, Johnson & Johnson Consumer Taiwan. In 1994, he became Finance Director, Johnson & Johnson (China) Ltd., and in 1995 was appointed Managing Director. In 1999, Jesse added Johnson & Johnson (Hong Kong) Ltd. to his responsibilities, and a year later was appointed President for Greater China, later being named International Vice President Asia/Pacific. Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, Jesse held positions at the Procter & Gamble Company and PepsiCo, Inc.

Jesse is on the Board of Directors of the Consumer Goods Forum, a global industry network of over 650 retailers and manufacturers. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the U.S.-China Business Council, a nonprofit organization of American businesses dedicated to expanding the U.S.-China commercial relationship. Jesse is a past Vice Chairman of the Quality Brands Protection Committee in China, and was a recipient of the Magnolia Award from the Shanghai Municipal Government, given in recognition of his contributions to Shanghai’s development.

A native of Taiwan, Jesse graduated from National Chengchi University in Taiwan with a major in Economics. He received a Master’s in Business Administration degree from Duke University.
